Our Sunday school teachers
Are there most every week
They have scriptures for us all to read
And objectives we should seek
They try to start discussions
But often we don’t speak
I guess we will inherit the world
If it indeed goes to the meek
Our Sunday school teachers
Bring a true resolve
And lessons for our daily lives
And what that all involves
They even give us quizzes
Which often we don’t solve
I guess we’re all still learning
And trying to evolve
Our Sunday school teachers
Each time they take the floor
Have led us on a journey
That starts at Jordan’s shore
And leads us through the bible
Right to its very core
Our Sunday school teachers
Are that and even more

I wrote this to honor the Sunday School teachers at Ox Hill Baptist Church. It was our last Sunday at church before we move to NC. They also wrote us a couple of poems as going away tributes.
